From May 13 to 16, Stara participated in the 57th edition of the Nampo Harvest Day, held in Bothaville, South Africa. For the first time since opening its office in the country, Stara took part in the largest agricultural machinery fair on the African continent, bringing innovative agricultural equipment, smart farming solutions, and, of course, the positivity of the Stara brand in its service to farmers.
In addition to its line of sprayers and spreaders, Stara also presented to African farmers the efficiency of other products, such as the Reboke 1500 grain cart, the Brava+ corn head, the Ceres planter, and of course, the exclusive technologies that only Stara provides the farmers with.
See below more details about the solutions showed at Nampo:
Sprayers
Visitors at Nampo had the opportunity to see up close the unique features of the Stara line of self-propelled sprayers. Imperador 2500, Imperador 4000 and Imperador 3.0 are perfect to meet different farmer needs. For example, Imperador 3.0, the only in the world able to spray, spread and sow. The sprayers also feature several functionalities that help improve efficiency and reduce application costs, such as:
- Continuous Recirculating System: The exclusive system keeps the chemical solution in constant circulation in the tank and piping system, providing homogeneity and the exact concentration of the product during the application, a cleaner spraying system, without residues from previous applications, and longer durability of the components.
- Nozzle-by-Nozzle Control System: It shuts off the spray nozzle automatically when the Topper controller identifies an area where the chemical has already been applied, consequently, preventing overlap and ensuring up to 5% savings on chemicals.
- Smart 4-Wheel-Steering System: It allows for a turning radius 42% shorter than conventional systems. It provides up to 45% less crop damage on the boundary and steering procedures on your crop field.
Spreaders
Stara line of spreaders was also featured during Nampo. This allowed farmers to learn more about the quality and technology of the Hércules 10000, Bruttus 18000, and Twister 1500. Three spreaders that are designed to meet the different needs of farmers in the field.
Trailed Hércules 10000 is the ideal spreader for applying substances for soil regulation, fertilizers, and seeds, delivering excellent distribution uniformity and quality. The spreader features several advantages designed to support farmers, such as:
- Twin Feedgate: The Twin Feedgate System is a system that allows only one side of the hopper that feeds the spinners to be closed. Consequently, it avoids application in areas where the product has already been applied to. In addition to providing fertilizer savings.
- Deflector: It directs the product over the spinner disk center to keep the excellent spreading profile. The granulometry of applied fertilizer keeps 75% of grains intact.
- Easy to calibrate: It is equipped with one funnel for calibration, spreading, and draining of the product. As a result, it delivers higher precision during applications.
The Bruttus line can ensure excellent application uniformity. Spreading by gravity minimizes the wind action and allows particles to be placed directly on the soil. Thereby, the use is optimized.
The product line includes solutions that minimize waste and increase your crop productivity, such as:
- Section shutdown: Less overlap over boundary applications, consequently reducing product waste.
- Tank: Tilting hopper with side and front flanges that prevent the product waste during the loading process. It is equipped with mixers that avoid product build-up in the hopper inner walls.
- Application system: It is equipped with a rubber conveyor belt that provides higher precision in spreading operations. Additionally, the scraper keeps the roller and conveyor belt clean, regardless of the adjustment, which results in a longer system lifespan.
Twister 1500, a hydraulic spreader that applies fertilizer and distributes fine seeds at fixed or variable rates to optimize the usage of products.
Twister 1500 is a synonym with uniformity and precision during applications. It features:
- Hopper: Polyethylene hopper with a capacity of 1,500 kg or 1.5 m3. Easy removal for cleaning and maintenance service.
- Mixers: The horizontal mixers feature a rotation of only 196 rpm. As a result, they ensure the product granulometry, avoid damage to the product applied, and at the same time, the fertilizer and seed draining to the spinner disks.
- Spinner disks: It features stainless steel spinner disks that have a vane adjustment system. As a result, they deliver an application range from 18 to 36 meters.
Grain cart
During Nampo, visitors also had the chance to learn more about the Reboke 15000 grain cart, designed for high performance in grain transport, ensuring excellent operational efficiency.
The grain cart unloading tube has a diameter in 340 mm with an unloading capacity of up to 2,500 kg/min. Therefore, providing more agile and faster grain unloading. It is made of carbon steel and mounted on the grain cart front to provide the operator with better unloading visualization.
It features a hydraulic activation to open and close the feedgate and the unloading tube. Remarkable features that make Reboke 15000 an ally when transporting and unloading grains.
Corn head
Brava+ was one of the main highlights of the fair, and visitors had the opportunity to see the corn row units in action up close. Brava + corn head was developed to harvest different types of corn efficiently, with quality, and safely.
It features deck plates with mechanical or electric adjustment, providing a variation range from 20 mm to 40 mm. The adjustment is performed according to the corn plant stalk.
Brava + is equipped with stalk rollers with 8 vanes, a gathering chain with 6 lugs. It allows for rotation adjustment in more than 10 options. This system allows the components to be adjusted according to harvester rotations, reducing the straw fed through the machine by 30%.
Seeder
The Ceres planter was also presented during the fair and stood out for its great versatility, agility, and excellent cost-benefit ratio. The seeders can distribute small and large seeds. The planter is equipped with depth limiters featuring adjustable height and rubber wheels, available for both winter and summer models.
Services
In addition to its machinery lines that ensure greater efficiency for farmers in the field, Stara technologies also provide top-level support and productivity for crops. At Nampo, visitors had the opportunity to explore two of the main technologies that Stara provides the farmers with:
- Conecta: It is the remote access service that connects the operator, in real-time, to an After-Sales technician in the Stara factory. The connection is established by means of Topper 5500, which is fast and assertive support. Conecta is a free service, and support is provided through remote access, allowing operators to receive assistance directly in the field. Thanks to this technology, an agile and efficient support is provided, and at the same time, time economy.
- Telemetria Stara: with this system, you can manage your operations in the crop field in real time. Any device that has Internet access will provide you with. Telemetria allows the farmer to plan the operation logistics, optimize the fleet, reduce operating costs, and avoid crop losses.
Telemetria Stara helps reduce costs and improve planning by enabling more efficient fleet monitoring. It also shares data with partner software platforms — and all of this can be managed through the Telemetry app.
Conclusion
During the days of Nampo, Stara was able to share its innovative DNA and present its wide range of machines and technologies — all developed to support farmers in the field. The days of the fair were filled with positivity and continuous growth, providing an opportunity for Stara to get closer to the farmers.
